New Name, New Look, New Location

The renamed Chico ART Festival, formerly Art at the Matador is getting a new look, and a new location on Floral Avenue at St John’s Episcopal Church at at 2341 Floral Avenue in Chico. “Move over Matador, here comes The Labyrinth”. Yes, the grounds at St John’s Episcopal Church even include a labyrinth, the perfect symbol for this year event, along with a rose for the month of May and Mother’s Day Weekend. The rose chosen is multi colored with all the colors of the spectrum as a reminder of all the colors on an artist palette!

St

The Labyrinth symbolized wholeness with the circle and spiral combining into a meandering but purposeful journey. Walking the labyrinth is a meditation or payer tool and represents a journey or path to our own center and back again out into the world.

This is the street view of St John’s. Upon entry, there is a large parking lot on the right. It will be large enough to accommodate all our art patrons. As you go further into the large property, the church building is on the right and further yet a conference building with another large parking lot in front of it. This is the area where the festival will be located.

Save the dates! Friday, May 5 from 4 pm to 8 pm & Saturday, May 6 from 10 am to 5 pm.
