Chico ART Festival - May 10 & 11, 2024

Chico ART Festival Team 2024

The team producing the upcoming Chico ART Festival is the same as last year. ChiVAA, the Chico Visual Arts Alliance’s board, and a small group of volunteers have been working on the festival since January. This year will be the 11th reiteration of this annual event. We missed a few years due to unfortunate circumstances, like the Camp Fire and Covid… This year, the Chico ART Festival will take place at St John’s Episcopal Church on Floral Avenue, close to East Avenue. The date and times are Friday, May 10, from 4 pm to 8:30 pm & Saturday, May 11, from 10 am to 4 pm. The festival is not happening on Sunday, the actual Mother’s Day, as occasionally reported.

Why Friday and Saturday and not Sunday? Early on, the ChiVAA’s board wanted to enjoy Mother’s Day with their families, so the art show was scheduled with a Friday gala opening and an all-day show on Saturday. Over the years, the tradition has endured. Also, having the show right before Mother’s Day would give everyone an opportunity to shop for Mother’s Day gifts.

We are a small and dedicated team taking care of all the details to produce the Chico ART Festival, from getting the event in magazines, the radio, and on the web to ordering the portable toilets and garbage cans and laying out the booths, to making margaritas, all with the help of extra volunteers. We also thank our festival’s angels, persons who have helped behind the scene with key parts to the festival, such as our main banner and yard signs – You know who you are! Thanks again!

We also would like to thank our 2024 event sponsors:
