My work explores identity, transformation, and emotional awareness through a figurative painting series titled Synthesis: States of Becoming. Each piece integrates the human figure with elemental environments such as fire, water, sky, and earth, reflecting shifting internal states rather than fixed identity. Through layered brushwork and a color-forward approach influenced by Fauvism, I aim to create images that feel both symbolic and immediate.

Inspired by Chico’s historic Bidwell Mansion, this piece reflects memory, place, and the emotional resonance of local landscape.
In addition to my studio work, I create paintings rooted in place, including works inspired by Chico’s landscape and architecture, such as Bidwell Mansion. These pieces connect personal experience with shared cultural memory.

Print of an original painting. 8″x10″. $25.
This piece explores emotional connection and memory through a simplified, expressive form.

My process begins with drawing and digital studies, followed by acrylic painting built through successive layers to develop atmosphere, light, and form. I focus on color relationships and edge control to unify figure and environment into a cohesive visual experience.
During the festival, I will be available to speak with visitors about my work and process, and I plan to conduct informal live painting demonstrations throughout the event, offering insight into how my paintings develop from initial concept to finished piece.
